BuzzFeed Take a Look at Hypnotherapy for Nail Biting
Who doesn’t love a good BuzzFeed? They can offer content as diverse as 20 reasons to love Melbourne, or men pretending to eat like barn yard animals. This time around, they’re using their viral power to explore hypnotherapy and how it can help with someone with a nail biting problem.
What Causing Nail Biting?
Nail biting, also known as onychophagia, is often considered a nervous habit that can be triggered by stress, anxiety, boredom, or even excitement. People may bite their nails unconsciously as a way to cope with emotions or situations that make them feel uncomfortable. Additionally, nail biting may be a result of perfectionism or a need for control, especially when a person is faced with a task that requires focus and attention. Some people may also bite their nails as a habit that has been carried over from childhood or as a learned behavior from observing others around them.
